What is the British feeling towards Americans?

Do Americans have that Family feeling like What us British people have?

  • what I mean is like, I'm from England and if I go to like another part of the country, I relate to people because there British like me, it's hard to explain, but because America is so big, I always think how people from different states are when they mix, because NY to Cali is like me going to a foreign country, (distance wise) like when I've went on holiday to spanish islands and to Spain itself, the people there are like Aliens to me! (not in a racist way, I mean they are so different) so I always wonder if A new yorker and someone from Cali meeting eachother, would you be able to tell straight away that there from far away? or would it seem like they were just an 'American' like yourself? everything probably doesn't sound right, I had trouble wording this correctly, so please don't call me dumb or stupid or anything of that nature. It's kind of like listening to rap music, The westside and eastside rappers like NaS and Dre all just sound the same, like if I wouldn't check or if they wouldn't mention it, I wouldn't be able to tell where they're from!

  • Answer:

because of suburbia and common media, Americans from suburbs, regardless how far away, sound almost exactly the same. I'm from a suburb outside of Dallas, Texas, and I have no trace of a Texas accent. (I have what is referred to as a Standard American Accent) I actually want to document my life for the benefit of people who are curious of what it's like in America, what our schools are like, family life, etc. please view my blog if you are interested! http://myabnormalhighschoolexperience.tumblr.com/

I don't know. And OF COURSE you aren't being racist. I hope now you are in bed and you have been given some hot cocoa and digestive biscuit...

Yes we are very different. But yet we know that we are all the same.Like the food would not be drastically different as it would be in different counties. But you could tell by the way we speak that we are from a different part of the country.Much Like the British and Australian accents.

are you applying that british people commit incest more than american people? either way both of your nationalities are scum

I'm from California and I've heard many people from other states don't even think California should be part of the US! Years ago, my dad was in Wisconsin, and he told the locals that he was from California. They told him that they considered California the "land of fruits and nuts",in other words, that California is populated by "weird" people who are hippies, health food nuts, and smoke pot.I couldn't believe it,but that's apparently how people from other states see us.So,yes,to answer your question, some states in the US are drastically different from each other. I think Southern people and Yankees are cool, but they might as well live in a different country as far as I'm concerned.Or maybe I live in "the land of fruits and nuts" after all. He he...by the way,it's cool that you can travel about your country and still feel united by your Britishness.I personally don't feel that way here, except maybe with people from the West Coast too.

No, a lot people who come from NY to Los Angeles, CA find it very artificial. People who go to NY from LA find it rude and unpleasant. The accents are way different as well. I prefer the New York accent in general, I find it amusing and new yorkers are quite smart compared to a lot of people from LA. Here people when they express themselves they use the word ''like'' an awful lot, to the point where it gets annoying. And all they talk about is looks, crappy celebrities that don't have any talent, cars, money, sluts etc... New York, whole different story. Now I cannot speak for other parts of California though, San Francisco is considered to be very nice and brilliant in general and the people too. But I haven't been there. I've been to London, England once by the way and it was delightful. I loved the people and the culture, they were honest like new yorkers as well. Not sure if you're from there, Scotland, wales or northern Ireland but it was rather fun! Cheers!

Sinister kid screw you and your third world country. Anyway, your question was worded just fine but it's hard to answer! Lol I'm a perfect example of how different people from other parts of the country can be...as a native Texan living in NYC lol. But even though people here might think I talk funny or dress/act different, I know they would never think of me as "foreign". Ugh I wish I could explain my point better! =/
