How can you tell if a girl you want to ask out is gay?

  • I'm a bisexual woman. However, I have horrible 'gaydar' and sometimes find myself trying to flirt with girls who may or may not be romantically interested in me because I'm a girl. I'm average looking and tend to find it easier asking out heterosexual guys because it always seems like there are a lot of them out at bars and clubs (the usual pickup joints). Basically my question is, are there any tips for girls to ask out other girls? Or at least to establish if they would be open to dating or hooking up with a girl? I'm a little afraid to straight out ask someone..."Hey are you a lesbian?" especially if she isn't. Some people get really offended when you think they are gay when they aren't.

In the past I have previously started by going to a gay club/night where you are automatically in with a chance of pulling. Then when you start paying someone attention, start talking they will know why you are interested. However if there is no option and it is a straight place then giving a girl more eye contact than usual and asking them if they want a drink is usually enough for them to realise that you are interested.

Gay bars,like most have already said. Also I think one of the main things is to never start off with such strong intentions.Build up to it.Yeah,they're probably fit and you wanna get a bit closer to them.Just be friendly,make a connection.Once you've got a connection,thats yr best bet. Oh,don't ask them if they're gay either...just mention that you're bi.If they're gay or bi they'll most probably say 'me too' or something.If they're straight,well,just carry on being friendly...you might still get somewhere tbf. Best part is,if all that doesn't work out...you've met a friendly,good looking girl who you're now friends with! (:
