How do I get a guy to notice me?

How do i get this guy to notice me?

• well, for starters, i recently moved to my new home 4 weeks ago and met some really great people at my new school. im a junior and about 3 months ago, i got out of a really mentally and verbally abusive 11 month relationship. (the guy made me feel worthless)... anyway, i will cut to the chase. my new best friend introduced me to this guy named Chance on valentines day and he was really humorous, outgoing, and just fun to hang out with. goofy in a way. i liked it. she later told me he was gay but i found it hard to believe since he avoided the subject like 3 times. but fully out she tells me. that night, him and i spent 2 hours online just talking about cars because we both love them. then the following day, 4 hours online just talking about cars and i managed to change the subject a few times but the guy was like a brick wall.. not much to be said.. then the next day we kind of started talking about other things but any time i mentioned anything gay, it was completely ignored. he doesnt say much to me. he has a beautiful smile and amazing eyes so when he sees me, i get real nervous.. this was just last tuesday.. ive seen him like 4 times since then.. but only with friends.. then last night i met him alone for a few minutes so he could discuss why he couldnt make it to the movie with just me....and when we text, sometimes he seems interested in what i have to say and other times not really. i just met him so all im trying to do is get to know him and its hard to do that when i act really weird and strange around him and say really stupid things in text just so he will talk to me.. i ask tons of questions and he has yet to ask me more than 5. again, all i want to do is get to know him but he is really hard to read and id just like for him to notice me.. but i dont know how.. and sometimes, i almost feel like im pestering him because he doesn't really talk much... i get that he doesnt know me well. everyone is different. maybe he just needs to warm up, maybe he isnt interested, or maybe he just wants to be buds.. i dont know and im trying to figure it out but i cant and it doesnt help seeing him either because i get really nervous and awkward and if we are with friends, i get loud and weird...if its him and i, i get shy and awkward....i want him to notice me and i want him to know im not some weird freak. i at least think im pretty fun once people take the time to get to know me....anyone have ideas as to what i could do? by the way, he is a senior and only 2 months older than me so the age isnt a big difference.
