What should I wear for my Pep assembly?

Why would people assume that i'm gay while i only did this at an pep rally for a joke ?

  • I've just recently to perform at an pep rally at my high school, It's been almost a year since beyonce released her popular soundtrack called single ladies but people are still loving the song so my dance teacher told me to do the single ladies dance along with other 2 guys and 3 girls, i was the lead dancer. They told me to wear a girl's t shirt with long skinny jeans and some 6 inch gold stiletto pumps to do the dance since you can't wear what beyonce is wearing in the school. But after i did the dance, now some people are calling me a gay and a queer. I don't understand why they would call me that while almost everyone else knew it was joke. Some girls even came up to me at lunch today and told me that it was the most sexiest thing they seen and they were impressed of how well i walked in those shoes. But how come some people would call me a gay while i only did it as a joke ??

You may have meant it as a joke but because men are made to be masculine... you have people questioning your sexuality because gay men are associated with being feminine... what you did was feminine even though Jamie Foxx and Martin Lawerence does it on Martin and In living color. Their sexuality is not being questioned because they play other parts that associate with masculinity

there jeluos and its high school so there are very immature people at that age, dont worry about it, as long as you know your not then theres nothing to worry about there just being stupid high schoolers.

well that depends on people's perception if it was just a joke for you it wasn't for the others don't worry be happy what's more important is what you think about yourself

It depends on how well you pulled it off. The more natural it seemed, the more some people may assume you had lots of practice. Some of it may also be wishful thinking (that is, some of those giving you a hard time may actually be trying to tell you that they're gay and that they hope you are, too). Like the guy who called the police last week crying that all his family had been killed is apparently the one who did it. Of course dressing up as a girl is cross-dressing and not being gay. Being gay can mean being an NFL linebacker while being attracted to other guys and not to girls. Those who know you best know better. And the rest don't matter.

Jealousy and Immaturity. Ignore them until they grow up.
