Is piano easier to play than guitar?

Is it easier to learn to play the guitar or the piano?

  • I know there have been a lot of similar questions, but there are few things different. I'm planning on learning to play the piano/guitar over the summer and I have at the very most 3 months because school doesn't leave me much time. I'm not looking for something you can learn to play during those three months because I know it takes a whole lot of time to actually 'learn' to play something, I just want to know which one you can get better at during that period of time. If I get better at something, chances are I'm going to stick to it later on. So basically, which one can you learn to play quicker? Oh, and I would learn via the internet, youtube and such, no teachers or anything because I'll be out of my hometown. And one more thing, I have a classical guitar and synthesizer (I can't afford a piano), and I've already tried playing the guitar, but just playing with a guitar pick, and I've learned to play one song (yaaay), lol.

    The piano is a much harder instrument to learn - anyone who says it isn't can't play the piano! You won't learn to play either though by watching the rubbish on the Internet!

Learn to play piano first so that you can read the music easier( notes and rhythms). Then, you'll just have to lean the notes on guitar and you'll be all set.

Building up the calluses on your fingers for holding down the notes takes time, and can really hurt if you try to rush it. Piano will be easier for a quicker learn. At least that has been my experience. Especially if you actually want to learn a song. And there are a lot of great youtube videos of tutorials for the piano (even on a synthesizer.)

Just depends on the person I guess. Some will find piano easier but some will find guitar easier
