What does it cost to make a typical radio commercial?

Whats goin on with my radio?

  • My radio will stay on when i turn the car off.( It doesn't turn off when i open the door) it stays on so my battery ends up going dead or loosing a lot of power. The fuse was good because the radio actually works when its in just wont shut off( so that means its a good fuse tho right? ) I took the fuse out for now which helped to not run the battery down cuz now the radio doesnt work at all but id like to have a radio. The radio is still the original one. its a 1996 Chevy cavalier. Why wont my radio shut off and how much does it cost to fix? Can it be done at home?at the moment my ignition switch is out. ive got a starter button.. Does my ignition switch being out have anything to do with my radio staying on constantly? Like maybe it did because my ignition switch was starting to short circuit ?( i put the starter button on there temporary after the fuse from the radio was already out to make it stop working) Dont judge me lol i know i need to get ignition switch fixed

    it doesn`t sound like the radio is the problem, But rather the ignition switch have that fixed and everything should be fine....Hope that helped you.

On a car stereo there are usually 2 sources of power. One is a constant "hot" the other is your ignition. Without both the stereo will not turn on. Basically both sources have to be energized for operation. So yes, your ignition shorting out is the problem but.......its possible a new ignition switch wont solve the problem. It sounds that you could have melted your stereo ignition wire into a constant "hot" wire so hence the stereo stays on constantly. I would suggest you look at your wires from the ignition to the stereo and see if this is the case. Also, is there anything else staying on?
