What amp would you recomend for this subwoofer?

Does Thicker subwoofer wire make subwoofers perform better?

  • what speaker wire do you recomend for 1200 watt subwoofer (speaker wire that runs from subwoofer to amp). i am using an 18 gauge wire right now. and also do you think if i update my 8 gauge power wire to a 4awg, my system will sound better??? . i heard this from a couple of poeple . they say that i am starving my amp, woofers. what do you recoment me??

  • Answer:

12 for wire.your starving for power do the big 3 will increase your vehichle power to amp creating more power to amp..The big3 is making your stock wiring larger.alt to battery battery ground to frame, and engine ground to frame,.advance have 2guage ground wires which are perfect. buy a 2 guage power wire and run it from alt to battery secure it. more power?

thicker wire means less resistance which equals more power through the wire at any one time. for your power wire i would recommend 1/0G wire, expensive but near the thickest available. as for amp to sub you can use what ever you want. i run 12G to sub and and 16G to speakers. ma m8 has an amp that has speaker terminals big enough to accomodate 8G wire, bit of overkill, but would increase flow even more
