How to hook subwoofers to a computer?

How can I hook my car amplifier and subwoofer sup to my desktop computer?

  • I've been doing a little research, but it hasn't really helped much. I already have the subwoofers, amplifier, and enclosure out of my car and in my room, next to my computer desk. I have two Memphis Power Reference 10" subwoofers (250RMS/500MAX, Dual Voice Coil) and a Memphis Power Reference 500 watt amplifier. I still have the speaker wire running from my amp to my subs and it is tuned for 1 ohm. I left the wiring in my car (in case I ever put another system in there), so I am going to get a 0 guage wiring kit Monday. What all else do I need to be able to hook these subwoofers to my desktop computer. I already have a Logitech speaker system hooked up through the speaker/headphone jack. My computer has an "Audio In" and a "SPDIF" jack, along with the standard "Audio Out" and headphone jacks.

I actually had a friend do this and it gets the um ok responce. You need to get a 110 to 12 volt converter http://www.adventurerv.net/power-supply-110v-converter-p-5910.html For the audio you can use something like this. http://www.byterunner.com/cgi-bin/cart.cgi?store=byterunner&product=USB+to+Audio+Adapters Goodluck
