What amp do i need to power a 15" 4 ohm sub?

ok so here is the sub i have http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9340_Kicker+VCVR154.html now i know i need an amp that runs 500 watts at 4 ohms... but can someone please go the extra mile and tell me exactly what amp would be a good choice. im new at this and i dont want to get the wrong thing

Thats a 2 ohm box. You want a mono sub amp that is 2 ohm stable. Something like the kicker zx500.1 would be absolutely perfect. An alpine pdx1000 is way too powerul. The pdx600 is more suited.
