I need an amp for my subwoofers.

I have 2 12" Orion subwoofers and need to know what amp to get?

  • I want to get the cheapest amp possible. I am not looking for perfection, just want it to work and sound okay. the subs are 500w rms each with 4 ohm impedance and single voice coil. I need to know what size amp do you suggest. I was thinking a 1000w mono channel @ 2 ohm but can't find a cheap one. Any other suggestions? I also need to know what size amp if i decide to run 1 sub?

  • Answer:

Why did ronaldo get a thumbs down that kenwood amp is good my brother runs 2 12" alpine type r's with it and it sounds good and its really loud. If you ran 1 sub a 500 watt amp would be good for it.

I would recommend the amp I have right now. Its a Kenwood amp. Here is the link. This is a smaller version of my amp. If you wanted to run one sub, get an amp that puts out at least 500 watts rms. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19264
