How to hook up a phone to a car stereo?

Is there a way to listen to the music on my phone from my car stereo?

• I have the original stereo in my '96 camry. and the cd is broke. I have used the tape player converter thing before and hooked it up to my laptop but im going to be driving back and forth to a bad town from now on and i don't wanna leave my laptop in my car. So is there a converter of some kind that i can plug into my phone and the tape player converter can hook up too? thanks in advance

  Yes you can! I have an original tape player in my car and I listen to music through my phone. All you have to do is plug the tape player converter into your phone where the headphones go. I have a sidekick 08 and I do it with my sister's iPod and it works too. If you plug it up like this, you can talk to people on your phone through the speakers in your car. Kinda like handsfree Its cool:) Good luck!
