• hello i just bought a 98 saturn and i want a audio system in it but i dont want to put a sub box in the trunk because they will steal it, my saturn needs some 6.5 size speakers in the front doors and 2 by the back window same size....so i was hopeing to replace all those original speakers and add in 4 new aftermarket speakers in which each after market speaker will have the power of 800 watts each so basically is 4x800=3200 will my sound system be good even tho i wont have a sub box in the back but i will have 4 good aftermarket speakers?????...will it sound the same as a sub box??? Note i will use a 1000 watt amp for all this!

  No, it will never sound the same as a sub. Second, you are looking at PEAK power. No 6.5 car speakers are 800 watts. Also, I think you are probably looking at cheap flea market equipment that claims huge power, but wont even put out half of what they claim. And your math is wrong, you dont add up all the speakers like that. What matters is what the amp puts out. Get a good head unit, a REAL amp, like 100 watts a channel, and some decent speakers. Stop looking at cheap equipment with huge fake power numbers. It will be loud and sound good, but without a sub, you arent going to get loud, low bass. heres an example--- this is the power ratings of a kicker amp Model ZX350.4 Power (watts/channel) 2 Ohm Stereo 90 x 4 -- This is a powerful amp that can cause hearing damage! You are probably looking at amps that claim thousands of watts, but in reality are cheap crap that wont even do 50 watts a channel. Dont look at products like pyramid, pyle, legacy, power acoustik, etc.
