Ok right now i have a sony xm-d9001gtr :https://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665167973#specifications 1300W max power Variable 50 - 300 Hz low pass filter RCA & speaker level inputs 900W x 1 RMS into 2 ohms, 20Hz-100Hz @ 0.6% THD High Level Sensing Power On MOSFET output stage & power supply CEA-2006 Power Compliant 500W x 1 RMS into 4 ohms 40 Hz EQ boost Line level thru-put Subsonic filter (15 Hz) and i have been using that amp for almost 2 years now running 2 12" rockford fosgate p3d412 http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?item_id=108289&locale=en_us but i got into a car accident and they were broken. So i was thinking about upgrading to the rockford p3d415 just the 15" version of the one's i had. Now the specs on rockford's website are almost identical to the 12" version. My question is will my sony amp have any problems pushing the 2 15" seeing there almost identical to the 12" just bigger? Also with these subwoofers should i have a sealed or ported encloure? i was looking at something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DUAL-15-PORTED-3-4MDF-SUBWOOFER-SPEAKER-ENCLOSURE-BOX-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem414f295d9dQQitemZ280500985245QQptZCarQ5fAudioQ5fVideo any help is much appreciated thanks!!

Answer:
the size of the speaker will present no problem to the amp whatsoever. all the amp cares about is power, not speaker diameter, and increased speaker diameter does not add power to the speaker, the speaker is made with a set power ratin and will not change. also, vented vs. ported doesnt matter aslong as its the right size. rockford fosgate recomends for the p3d415 a sealed enclosure with an internal volume of 1.6 cubic feet per sub or a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 2.66 cubic feet per sub with a port 4 inches in diameter and 10 inches long.
