How do you wire to different ohms?

How can i wire these kicker subs together with different ohms?

  • I have 1 dual voice coil 4 ohm sub and 1 dual voice coil 2 ohm sub, the amp is a 4 channel amp stable at 2 ohms or 4 ohms bridged. is there a safe way to wire these subs on this amp?

  • Answer:

Unfortunately if you wire them in parallel the result will be 1.3 ohms, which is far too low. It is safer to wire them in series. Why do you not simply connect one speaker to each of the amplifier outputs?

your either going to end up some where neer 3 ohms or 6 ohms. my suggestion would be to find a matching sub to either one. if u wanted to use what you got. wire in series one coil from each sub to 1 side of the amp and the other coils to the other placeing a 6 ohm load. however the amp will not put out as much power with a 6 ohm load. only good thing is amp wont get as hot.
