Will a dvd-r work in a car cd player?

Car Cd player wont work?

• The CD player in my car suddenly stopped working the other day. I took it back to the store and got a replacement (thinking the player was faulty). I Have since installed the replacement player it in my car and it just wont power on. It will accept cd's and eject them but there's no illumnation on it. I have tried it in a different car and it works fine. Any ideas? Car is a MK4 golf.

  Make sure your red wire is hooked up to a permanent 12v source. hook your yellow wire and your blue and white striped are hooked to a keyed wire.(permanent= key on or off....keyed= power only when the key is on. use a test light with this project.
