    I just put in a phase linear uv8 into my 97 explorer. You need to get the special harness that has the plug for the amp on it. Any audio store should have it for like 20-30 bucks. I used that and just kept the amp. Now that I added a couple subs and a 4000 watt amp, while still powering the stock speakers with the stock amp this truck sounds amazing now!! FYI--I did the install of everything on my own and it was pretty simple, everythingclicked into place nicely
