How do I get rid of subwoofer fuse?

Is this a good simple subwoofer?

  • I don't need anything really expensive, just something that's nice. I have a dual box (for 12" subwoofers") and this amp that was gave to me. Amp's Information 1000W 4-Channel MAGNA-AUDIO MG-2553 BASS Boost / LPT (some other stuff it said) 30a Fuse (on the Amp) 12v (Found these on eBay.) 1000 Watt 12" Bass Subwoofer Pair New MCW12 (Sycho Sound - Manic 12) - $37.99 Are these good to get?.. (Again I know this amp isn't the best of anything it's just something basic. I'm looking for with a lil bass.) Thank You

to answer the question directly, no. don't trust $40 subwoofers, especially when they say they can push 1000 watts. just some info that should help a bit: generally you would want your box designed to accomodate a certain subwoofer, as most subwoofers will perform best in an enclosure designed to meet their verious factors, but as you aren't in the market for high sound quality, and just want something to bump with, i'd suggest heading down to a local auto store and grabbing a pair of kenwood, pioneer, clarion or JVC 12"s for the box. try and find the volume of your box, and try and get the recommended volume to run the subs in, and attempt to match the two most closely (eg. your box is 2 cubic feet in volume, a single 12" sub performs best in a 1 cubic foot enclosure, so you have the 2 subs, perform best in a 2 cubic feet enclosure, so it will sound decent). in terms of that amplifier, it wont be producing anywhere near 1000 watts of power with a 30 amp fuse, i'd say at optimum performance it might push 350 watts. try and get some more info about it. you'll want to bridge the 4 channels on your amp down to 2 channels, and run your subs off a channel each hopefully, unless you need it to power your front and rear speakers as well. in terms of the power handling of the subs (remember to keep in mind that the RMS value of the subwoofers is the important one), try and match them to the power that your amplifier will produce which will give you a better sound quality. that's a very rough outline, but it provides some basic information that will help you get the best sound from what you have. for your benefit, spend some time researching some things i have mentioned, plus others i have probably forgot :P, which will make it easier for you to understand what you are doing, and it also gives you satisfaction when your install is done, and you can say, "i did that, and i know how it works".......well it does for me anyway :D good luck

no rms? hard to tell what is good who cares what the watts is get the rms if you dont know what rms is when you buy saubs or speakers amp w.e it says maxium power, thats nothing special you want the bit what says "rated power" so yeah you are getting a good deal but it all depends if your like me. i would say its **** because im a complete bass freak. i got 600rms amp and a 380 rms subwoofer serious power . but if you aint like me 200 rms which is around 1000watt max power should be fine for you
