How to wire an amp in a car without a deck?

Do you connect speakers to the amp or the car deck?

• I am new to car audio so i have no clue what im doing. i have a big amp and i ordered a new deck, but i want my speakers to be amped like the subwoofers. if i need to hook the speakers into the amp then doesnt that mean that the stock speaker wiring plug things arent going to be used? basically do i have to wire the deck in for all the speakers or just hook the speakers to the amp and then just hook the amp to the deck? .....or both.... i dont have a clue...

  Depending on whether you have purchased a wiring package, you will need one. You need a few wires, the wire from the amp to the deck, the power wire from your battery, the speaker wiring. Make sure to neutralize your battery, take out the necessary fuses, and carefully wire through the dash and not bump anything else important. Connect the power source of the deck and amp through to the battery. connect the amp to the deck, and then the speaker wiring comes out of the amp. If you want a sub def connect it out of the amp too. For your stock speakers, just take their wires out of the stock deck and use your new wiring to reach them to the amp, not the deck in this case. Doing this, match the ends of the wire, meaning, positive and positive go together. After all this is finished make sure your grounding is still sufficient or else the circuit won't be completed and none of this will work.
