Car speaker?

Right front car speaker doesnt play music, only faint static sound heard after hitting bump really hard.?

  • i was driving my 2000 honda civic down a street at about 40mph and slammed through a deep pothole. i heard a pop sound but couldnt tell if it was from the speaker or just the car hitting the bump. since then i dont hear any music from my right front speaker, which is the side i hit the bump on. i put my ear close to it and it only makes a faint static noise. i checked the connections behind the speaker and they were intact, i even manually held the wires together just to see if the speaker works and it didnt. im thinking something came loose from behind the head unit but why would only that one speaker not work instead of everything? i have 6.5" Focal speakers in the front doors and 6 x 9" Focals in the rear deck, plugged directly into a Pioneer Premier DEH-P410UB headunit, no amp for the speakers, but i also have an Alpine TypeR subwoofer WITH an amp, if that matters. the headunit, sub and 3 speakers work fine, just the one in the front passenger door isnt playing music. any help is appreciated, i hate being without music, thanks.

  • Answer:

ok first thing i would do is take the speaker out and try it on the door that does work to see if the speaker itself is the prob or if it is internal if it is internal i would just run new wire to the door let me know if this helps.
