Installing Radio in 2002 Ford F150 Truck?
-
I have a JVC KD-HDR40 and on the wiring harness there are the 12v positive yellow the black ground the red acessory and the remote switch wire then the corresponding front and back speaker wires. I am having a problem with the ford truck wiring diagram which looks like. Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Light Green/Pink Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Black/Violet Car Radio Ground Wire: Black/Green Car Radio Illumination Wire: Light Blue/Red Car Stereo Antenna Trigger: Blue Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Gray/Light Blue Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Tan/Yellow Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Light Green Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green/Orange Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Orange/Light Green Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue/White Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Orange/Red Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Pink When it says two colors does it mean that their are two corresponding wires? There are a total of 24 wires inside the trucks regular wiring harness. Need help wiring the harness the radio came with and the wires inside the truck. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Answer:
When it says two colors, it means that a single wire is two colors. For instance, a Brown/Pink wire is brown with a pink stripe on it. So for the right rear speaker, you'll find the brown wire with the pink stripe and the orange wire with the red stripe. Those two wires will hook to the radio's wiring harness leads for the right rear speaker. Do the same with each of the other three speakers. The wiring harness for the radio will also have a place for the constant power...hook the light green wire with the pink stripe to it. Just follow the logical steps with each item on the radio's wiring harness. Each lead needs a specific wire. That's all there is to it. - Stuart

no, say that each color code is a single wire. take left front + for instance gray/light blue it would be a gray wire with light blue stripe down it. the left front - tan/yellow, tan wire with yellow stripe down it. now it you bought the harness that plugs into the factory harness, you just match though colors to the harness on the radio and plug straight in no cuttin.
