What amp(s) is compatible with an fi bl 12?

What amp would be PERFECT for powering One 12" Fi BL Subwoofer at 1000RMS?

  • About to buy a 12" Fi BL but I'm wondering what kind of amp I should buy... ? I don't want to spend too much on the amp because I've got a few other things to take care of but I just want to make sure that I'm getting ALL of what the 1 12" will give me! I know they are very powerful and durable subs so I'm sticking with 1. Please let me know what amp I should buy... 200-400 price range... maybe.

  • Answer:

Hopefully you are buying a dual voice coil 4 ohm which can run 2 ohm load. One sub buy DVC 4 ohm (Unless you want a 1 ohm load buy one DVC 2 ohm). Two subs you want DVC 2 ohm to achieve a 2 ohm load. Kenwood makes some nice mono amps and so does MTX, Power acoustic, Hifonics (very good for the money). I would go with Hifonics if money is tight or Power Acoustic (LFA1-2000d). Try to get 1200w rms because some amps say 1000w RMS but aren't.

for that range id go with a powerbass 1000.1 or a hifonics brutus 1200.1, just about the best amps for the price in my opinion, just remember to properly break in your sub if its brand new cause it will blow if you dont and just pump full power to it from the start
