General Subwoofer question?

Subwoofer question for ford explorer?

• hey, im custom building my own subwoofer box and im putting it in the back behind the 3rd row. since there is just limited space, im building a shallow box with a shallow-mount subwoofer. but my question is, since the sub will be like 3 inches away from the trunk door, wil it rattle the trunk door? or will it sound as good as it would farther away from it? thanks

  Depends on how well the door is sealed. Will probably have to wait until you're done & find out.... Also, might help you - If the car came with a factory sub as an option, I'll bet the wiring is still there somewhere, stuffed under a panel out of the way. Might be able to use it ...
