How to use factory gain control with after market speakers?
-
I have a 96 Bonneville SSEI. The stock speakers have four wires going to them. they have a positive and negative wires running on both sides of the speaker. One side it 4 ohms and the other side is 10 ohms. I tried to hook both sets of wires up to my new speakers but all that was working was the tweeters I had no bass at all. I then hooked up the 4 ohm wires and the speaker worked but just the bass. The car has separate tweeters already that are very good but the low range speakers are a little week. Am I stuck with the stock speakers?. they don't sound that bad and they do actually make the car shake when I turn the sound up a little. but I wanted to have better bass because the tweeters kind of drowned out the bass.
