What Stereo Deck could I get for my 2000 New Beetle?

My VW New beetle has the tape deck in the stereo so I would really like something new with CD and MP3 capability (so I can listen to my I-Pod) and of course the radio. I have looked on-line and know what kind should fit however I don't know what kinds are good and I don't know how it would fit because the opening where is stereo is now is oval shaped and has a curved front not flat. Can you just get a face plate or something? I would really like a know stereo but I don't want a big whole in the dash on my car. Could someone recommend a good stereo and a how it would look in the car. Thank You!

Best place for a new headunit is Crutchfield.com. you can choose your specific vehicle so you know what fits. and it will come with all necessary parts for your install (such as,a wiring harness, instructions, and the dash kit to make the radio look right in your odd little vdub =) ) I personally like the Kenwood x994. CD, am/FM, iPod and Bluetooth integration. Also the option to change the color of the lights is a neat option you wont find in most others.
