I need amp for my speaker system.

What kind of amp do i need for my car speaker system?

  • I have 2 Dual brand 12 inch subwoofers. sensitivity is 88dB, frequency response: 28Hz-125Hz, Nominal Impedance: 4 Ohms, RMS power handling: 175 watts, Peak power range: 500 watts, Voice coil size: 2 inches, Magnet size: 38.2 oz. I was told by one audio place that i needed a 1000 watt amp, another audio place told me i needed an 800 watt amp. I was just wondering what size amp do i really need?

    you r peak power is 500watts, so the RMS power is about have that at 250 watts per spk. so you need a amp that is about 600 watts rms. so the 1000will work. With that you'll be with in range of what you need.
