Will these subs work with this car amp?
-
The amp can handle 2 ohms at 900 watts. Each of the subs have RMS: 500 watts. So I was going to under power each of the subs by 50. Will this work? Amp: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22574_Kenwood+KAC-9105D.html Subs: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8364_Kicker+07CVR154.html

Answer:
In theory, this set-up will work. The specs on that amp states that the amp is 1 ohm stable, and the subs have dual 4 ohm coils, so when you wire them in parallel, you will achieve that 1 ohm loadand have the capability to reach that 900 watt rms output of the amp. Under powering your subs by 50 watts at these power levels probably will not hurt anything. Just make sure your amp has a good ground and that it has plent of airflow around it bc the amp will get hot playing at 1 ohm like that! Joey
