Need help with a car Audio System?

I need help and suggestions for my Car audio system?

  • Hello i have a 96 nissan maxima and i am looking into buying a car audio system. I have a Kenwood kdc-x693 receiver. Crutchfield experts suggested i get the Boston Acoustic s65 speaker front n rear and a Kenwood kac-6404 amp when im ready....But a car audio installer said i should get some kickers... Can you please help me out with any suggestions i am looking for Loud Crisp sound not over power by bass please help

    Kickers will add more bass then you might want. I would suggest go with the Boston Acoustics, or Infinity speakers. Infinity speakers have great high, and mids, but dont over power with bass. Infinity Reference 6022si all around should fit. The kenwood amp looks good, but i personally would use Eclipse EA4200 because it has a bit more power. In the end just make sure you order off of Crutchfield because they always have good deals, customer service, and fast shipping.

Go for the Boston Acoustic speakers. Kickers used to be good but now they build their stuff cheap.

Best advice... spend some time reading reviews around the Internet about which car speakers you should choose to generate great mids and highs but at the same time laying off the bass a tad. Crutchfield is great for product info site, but you're always going to pay for the price of the info which will and always has been placed in their products. You can find the same or similar products else where for a larger discount. Not saying you should spend the least amount of money as possible for a cheap car audio system, just saying to check out other sites like http://www.cheapforme.com and see what they have to offer and view some prices. In the end, if you do your own research, you'll be much happier with the outcome of your system.
