What is a good amp?

What would be a good amp?

  • i want a good amp to push my subs but dont want to spend that much i think i need 2000 rms i have 2 pioneer premier champion series pro subwoofers 12 inch 1000 rms each dual voicecoil i currently have a bazooka mga 1x1000 but when i turn it it the amp light starts to flicker red maybe i sould wire it different or get a different amp i dont have it wired it parralel right now

  • Answer:

You need to give at least the rms value in watts. If you subs rms is 2000 and you have two of them you need a 4000 watt amp. Your subs peak is 2000 not the rms. You just need a amp that gives the rms or more. Over powering doesn't hurt the subs under powering is what blows them. (Unless you hook up something ridiculous like the kicker war horse to a single alpine type E sub)

a 1500 rms would prbably be good, you dont want to overpower expensive subs and blow them
