Which is better of these to subwoofers?

Which is better 3 10" subwoofers or 2 12" subwoofers ?

    In terms of absolute air movement, 3 10's will have more cone area and can move more air than 2 12's. Of course, that's if we're comparing "apples to apples". If the 12's are more efficient, have a greater Xmax, and/or a higher SPLo, it's possible that 2 12's could outperform 3 10's. I'd recommend that you do a search on the particular model numbers and find the specs of both the 10's and 12's. It there's no model numbers listed in the craigslist ads, or if they turn out to be "junk" subs, you would be better served by getting a good set of subs (either 2 or 3) from a reputable dealer that will provide you with what you need in order to make an informed decision.

That would totaly depend on the brand, but most if they are different brands what everyone has the higher rms watt's is louder, but you have to remeber that some brands hit cleaner and are more durable then others. 10" are normally better for punchy bass like rock and 12" is a louder more drawn out bass thats better for rap and hip hop. I listen to rap so i prolly would go with the 2 12" because they would take up less trunk space.

all so consider the ohm load of the subs and the amp you will be using to make sure they will match up meaning the amp can be wired to a good ohm level that is not too high or low, one sub can change everything. here is a calculator http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp this is for a mono amp if you use a 2 channel amp bridged it is like cutting the ohm load in half so make sure to do some research and design the system before you buy.
