Subs for my truck help?

Help with my car subs and amp brands?

  • my buddy is lookin for a couple ten inch subs in the back of his truck. this store wants to sell him some power bass subs and amp. i wanna help him out, but he is very conscious on what the "professionals" tell him. i kinda want him to go with rockford fosgate, or pioneer. or jbl. i'd help him install, and he'd also learn about car audio, but he wants to know what you guys think. just so everyone knows i've done several hookups, and i am very familiar wth how it all works. any advice? btw way cheaper to buy online and then self install.

    i have a 13.5 inch jl there the new style subs they make and when my volume levels on 10 it shakes my side mirrors with the windows closed. its hooked up to my amp and eveything else puhshing 2000 watts its nice

MTX is garbage JL is over ratted and way over priced. Why waste time and money on them. Subs, look into Elemental Designs, they make some subs that your friend will like, and I am more than sure you will end up liking them as well. Very well made, great customer service as well. The owner of the company is an audiophile, and even gets his hands dirty, not so much anymore though, but still manages to get out there and help in the process. Contact them directly, since they do not allow any shop, not even on the internet to sell their gear, get it directly from ED.

If theres not much room in his truck he might wanna get a "shallow mount setup" (a little better fit in trucks) Also good brands to look into are MTX, Rockford, Alpine, and JL. I wouldnt really consider pioneer or power bass.
