Subs and Amp for a car?

I need help on hot to wire my subs in my car, i have 2 subs and a mono amp?

  • i have 2 bazooka pmiller series subs that are 4 ohms, and a 850 watt amp that is single channel, how should i wire these? i wired them this way and my amp turns off it i turn it up to loud, the speakers have 2 negatver terminals and 2 possitive terminals those terminals are coupled one with another on the sub for both of them, then i ran the wires to the amp and put the positives from each sub to the positive on the amp and the negatives to the negative of the amp, is that wrong? please help me get this working!!

    To much load on your amp.When you hook them up like that you drop the ohms on the amp.You need to see how what your amp can run at.Try it like this on one speaker go from neg to poss and do the some thing on the other speaker.Then go from poss on one speaker to the poss on the other speaker then put that on the poss on your amp.Now take your neg from one speaker hook it to the neg on the other and then to the neg on your amp this should work for you.This well keep your amp at 4 ohms.http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp

go to www.jlaudio.com check whats the lowest impedance your subs and amp can handle and wire it accordingly...it gives you diagrams on the website of how to wire it....you will need to know how many ohms your subs and amp can handle though. the lower ohms you go, the more power you get from the set up. but just make sure its compatible first

you didnt get a manuel for your amp?,,running those turned off your amp, when you put it up? i dont understand that?how many watts are the each sub? maybe you blew the amp out?
