How good of a sound system could i get for $1000?

Can i get a decent sound system with good base for 500-1000 dollars? I dont know that much about sound syt?

• I am gonna get a 200 jeep cherokee and want to get a decent sound system on it with good base. i can do that with 500-1000 to spend right? i no subwoofers and stuff but what am i looking at and getting into here help? im new at this

  Depends on what you mean by good system. Good is different for other people. Someone could say good is $300-$500 or what you said $500-$1000. Any more higher on price then you are moving into SPL competition. I think that should be more than enough of what your price range of $500-$1000. Normal car or vehicle listen depending on size of car or truck is top at 1000 RMS before fast ear damage. More than that you might as well save up for retirement early. I got 1000 watt max not RMS in my little mitsubishi mirage, and it is loud almost to hurting. That is just right for the little car. Bigger vehicle could handle more power, but is not recommended due to ear problems. 2000 jeep cherokee is not really too big of a vehicle compare some trucks or SUV's. The biggest subwoofer or subwoofers is 15 inch for the jeep. You might not get two of 15 inches, because it might take up too much space in back. You probably looking at aftermarket deck, then front speakers, and then rear doors for mids, and then sub in back. The deck can range from cheap $79-$2000, depending on cd or going to DVD. The front speaker 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 range from $25-$500. The mids 5x7 to 6x9 range from $50-$1000. The subwoofers are from small to largest range from $35-$100,000. Amplifiers range depending on power and ohm rating from $50-$50,000. The really high prices are for only competition. Those people in competitions wear earmuffs or earplugs, or use a remote. They also put cement inside the panels of doors and trunk or hatchback. Really as a recommend from me is to not go more than $1000, and you should be having a really great system that still might ruin your ears, but that is only if you don't care about hearing much in about 25 years after. Here is a bass package that you could get, but if you are young can get and handle this much power for a while, but will hurt you in the long run for health.
