-
Well basically im looking for a sound system with sub etc for about 1g max which will sound good and really give me the "effect". Could anyone possibly find me something on ebay that way i can get an eidea of what is good or if its worth buying it from a shop and what shop because i sorta have no clue about this stuff and does it matter about the car model aswell thanks

If you could stretch your budget a little bit you could do really well. I have: Eclipse SW6010 (10 inch sub) Alpine MRP-M500 (mono-block amp for sub) Alpine MRP-F300 (4 channel amp for speakers) JL VR600-CSi (6 inch splits for front, with crossovers) JL TR600-CXi (6 inch coaxials for rear) I got mates rates, and it ended up being not much more than 1g. The best advice I can give is go into a few shops, have them set you up a system, tell them your budget etc, and see if you can hear some of the components on display or w/e. I'm not sure what you yanks have, but use google to try track down a few sound stores. Try for quality gear, rather than cheap and big. It'll last longer, and give much better SQ. Edit: just noticed your last question. Model only matters in terms of size. You don't want a huge sub in a tiny car, you'll never be able to use your boot again and you'll go deaf. If your car is really small (two door, small boot) try a slim sub, they can go under seats or upright in your boot and take up next to no room. If your car is medium, use an 8 to 10" sub. If it's bigger, like a full sedan, go 10 to 12, unless you particularly like only being able to hear sub, in which case buy two cheap 12", and blast them till they pop, when you'll just have to replace them. Your only other concern is ported/sealed sub. Ported is louder, sealed is smaller. If you go ported, make sure you get someone who knows what they're doing to design the box, or get a prefabbed one from wherever you buy your sub. If the volume/size of port etc are wrong, it'll sound like crap.

1000 bucks can get you a pretty decent system I bought an alpine type x which is clean sounding and more than enough bass I bought that a box and a 1800 watt amp for 600 for a deck I would suggest a pioneer there easy to tune and under 300 bucks will buy you a pretty nice one.
