Pioneer in car stereo wont work?

Is the fuse on the back of a car stereo for the speakers or power all together? Pioneer DEH-23UB?

• I just installed a Pioneer DEH-23UB in my wifes 02 toyota highlander.. it has the factory JBL system with amp so I had to use a special one plug wireing harness with the 4 RCA plugs... I used Y cables to plug into the stereo's Left and right preouts on the back. I am a little new to this and did something stupid.... her factory deck had some kind of secondary antenna plugged in next to the antenna which for some reason I was thinking must be a ground. I connected the stereos ground to this secondary antenna... I attempted to test for sound but I did not plug the AC controls back in.. I also did not tighten the car battery terminal but just set it on (there may not have been a good connection)... what happened was the power come on for a few seconds then shut off... the key did nothing. Again this may have been because the battery cable was not tight and the AC controls not plugged in. (sorry this is getting so long). I then put the ground from the stereo to the ground on the harness like it should have been.... I installed everything.... everything looks good except I cannot get sound. I think this may be the confussing menu my pioneer has in setting the pre outs to work. Long story short I wanted to know if the fuse on the back of the deck could be the problem or would I get no power if it were bad? I checked the two car stereo fuses and they are fine. Someone lead me in the right direction and I swear I will never install another car stereo.
