Car Audio Help-----Amplifier Compare?
-
Ok so I just baught a Lanzar 2000 watt amplifier to replace my 1000 watt Autotek amp. However when I was installing I noticed that the Lanzar only had a single 40Amp fuse in it while my autotek amplifier had 2x30amp fuses in it. I read both manuels and online reviews and it looks like the 2000 watt is rated for more RMS wattage. I just was wondering what was a better representation on TRUE power; the rated RMS in the amplifiers manuel or the fact that they have differnt fuses. Do fuses matter that much in terms of power output?

Answer:
The fuses are the biggest deal. For a class D amp you can take the toal of the fuse amps times 10 to find its accual output while an AB amp you take times 6.
