What cables should I have to connect speakers amp and sub in my car?

Can i hook my front speakers up to my head unit and connect rears and sub to amp?

• I have purchased a headunit with built in amp 4x50 watt. 6.5" speakers 400watt peak a pair, and a 1400 watt with 400 RMS.. would i be able to hook my 2 front speak up to my head unit, then hook the rear pair and the sub to an amp? i am going to buy an amp, but unsure what sort of wattage i would need, any clues for how many speak watts to amp watts? Please help!

  Sure, you can amp just the rear speakers and a sub if you want. You could do it with a single bridgeable 4-channel by connecting the rear speakers to 2 separate channels and bridge the other two for the sub. You could also use a "3-channel amp" that has a dedicated subwoofer channel. Or you could use 2 amps, a 2-channel amp for the rear speakers and a monoblock for the sub.
