Car speaker?

Radio not turning on after removing speaker in car?

• OK, so the right speaker in my car was rusted up when I purchased it and it never worked to begin with, so after getting sick of left side only sound, I removed the right hand side speaker. It wasnt a pretty sight, and i pretty much had to rip the cable out of the speaker as it was rusted in so bad. I then just chucked everything back in the door and closed it up, as I had to drive to town to buy some new ones, however now their is no longer any power to the radio. Everything else is working fine. I have: (1) Checked the fuses (2) Checked the wiring at the back of the speaker, and its no different to when it was working before Could I have caused the problem by removing the speaker? Could I have SC the car? Its a 94 Ford Laser XL with a pioneer radio and factory speakers. We are talking about the door speakers, btw. Help appreciated.

  take a look at the wires that came off the speaker. Are the two wires touching each other? are they touching any metal? try that, i know it shut everything off in my truck when changing them, the wires touched and the radio shut of, and if not, you could hook up the new speaker and see if it works!
