What are cheap sound system for 1999 Cr-v?

How do you install Pioneer DEH-1400 in-dash reciever to a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix with a BOSE sound system.?

  • My Grand Prix has the premium Bose sound system. It as 8 speakers and a stock amp. im looking to change the radio to something just a little better.

  • Answer:

Because of the way your vehicle is wired at the factory, and to eliminate the need for extensive cutting and splicing, you will probably want to install a "connection adapter" in addition to the normal vehicle-specific wiring harness. The appropriate adapter for your Grand Prix is the PAC-SOEM-4. The wiring harness you need is a Scosche GM02B or similar from Metra or PAC. You will also need a "DELCO to Motorola" antenna adapter cable. I don't know how much you are paying for the Pioneer, or if you have considered other units. Depending on the price, there are units with many more features and better value. The DEH-1400 doesn't have a front-panel USB input. It doesn't even have an AUX input. And it only has one set of preamp outputs.
