How do I wire up two separate amps in my car?

Which way should I wire my car amp's?

  • I am hooking up two amps in my car. One a JL 500/1 and one Fosgate T400-2. The only thing I am not sure of is which way to hook up my power cable. Option 1 Use two 4 gauge wires "However, I would than need another fuse block" Also, I am not sure if the two power cables would cause any interference with each other by being too close to each other. Option 2 Run one 4 gauge wire into a splitter into two 8 gauge wires "Would need nothing" But I am not sure if the 8 gauge would handle my amps. What do you think?

buy the additionnal hardware for 4 gauge

Run a single 4 gauge to a distribution block and 8 gauge to each amp. 8 gauge is perfectly adequate for either of the amps. http://www.darvex.com/store/pc/Sound-Quest-4-8-Gauge-Distribution-Block-26p86.htm
