What is the sound difference between 2 ohms and 4 ohms?

Whats the difference in ohms on subs does it make a difference in sound quality?

  • and how to wire a 4 ohm subs !

  • Answer:

unlike what he just said, ohms have no part in sound quality. lower ohms means less resistance of the current to the amp and sub, resulting in more power, and the opposite for higher ohms.

here is a wiring calculator, input the # of subs and their rated ohm load. this is for a mono amp, if using a 2 channel amp that is bridged mono the ohm load needs to be 4 ohms on about all amps. the ohm load makes no changes in sound quality, the load is designed to work with certain amps or numbers of subs. to many people choose the wrong amp or number of subs or wrong ohm load that do not work together so design is the key. all so many amps are rated down to 1 ohm and some do not handle the load well. other problems come from setting the gain too high.

yes there is a diff in sound...the lower the ohms the lower the impedance there is and there will be a clear sound however the high the impedance the less clear it will be but the more deeper the bass will be....it all depends on what you wat....sound or bass
