Question about speaker wattage between my stereo and speakers? Mixing speakers and different stereo?

  • Ok, I have a Kenwood KDC-MP242 stereo, 50w, 22w RMS. My issue is, I have the speakers that came with it and they suck so much. But, I have another set from a past car adventure that are 6.5 inch JVC CSV624. They are 200w max output and are 2 way.     You can use your speakers without an amp they just won’t be as loud. Just clip the wires where your speakers are now and simply replace them with the JVC speakers. Positive to positive and negative to negative. l did this in my Suburban where l replaced my factory speakers and they sound fine.

It should not damage anything, but the sound could suffer. Remember 200W is the max not the bottom end. I am assuming it is a 50W per channel stereo which would send 50W to each speaker.
