Can I hook up a capacitor to a mono amp?

Can I hook up this Subwoofer, Amp & Capacitor? PLEASE ANSWER!!!?

  • Could I hook up this subwoofer to my 2000 Jeep Laredo? Can I hook this up without any problems? 12" jensen subwoofer which has a blaupunkt speaker in it, and attatched to the back is American Pro Mosfet Amp 4 channel 1000 watt Amp w/ 24DB Crossover, and strapped to the side is a 1.0 Farad Capacitor with Digital Display. Could I hook that setup up in my jeep grand cherokee laredo 2000? without any problems??

  • Answer:

yes you can. its unlikely that your actually need a capacitor with that set up. your cars battery/generator should be able to handle that just fine. caps are really for much higher end systems or cars that have generator issues. (or just paranoid people XD><) "a 12 inch jensen subwoofer with a blaupunkt speaker in it"? The sub woofer is a type of speaker so saying you have a jensen with a blaubunkt in it doesn't make much sense. did you mean your have a jensen enclosure (sub woofer box) with a blaupunkt sub in it? Just FYI you can run a mono amp with only 1 sub fine. the 4 channel is gonna need to be... "bridged" (i think its called bridged) in order to get the full power to one sub woofer. If you dont know how to wire this system in yourself get a pro to do it or find a friend that knows (actually knows) what they are doing. someone hooking up a system wrong can really mess up your electronics. Also don't cheap out on the wires. (except the signal wire that hardly matters)
