Is MOSFET a good amp brand?

I am hooking up a amp in my car and its my first time. What is the Mosfet on the amp.?

  • Where do I hook up the mosfet to make the amp work. And how do I know the amp is working when I have it hooked up.

  • Answer:

mosfet is an acronym, it is essentially the design topology of the power supply stage of the amplifier (takes your car's 12v and ramps it up to 40-200v depending on the power requirements of the amplifer) OLD (like 1980's) car amplifiers had separate cases for the power supply stage and audio stage, not sure how else you'd be looking to hook up the mosfet since most modern amps have all the components on a single board under a single case. If the amplifier is hooked up (correctly) you should know if it is working or not by noticing if it amplifies your input signal. Sorry if this is not much help, maybe you can ask your question in a different way?
