What amp should i buy to power 2 alpine type r 15s?

  • im buying two alpine type r 15s here tomarrow and iv been looking at hifonics, mtx, jl, alpine and a few others but i want to push them subs to the max what brand/model should i get to do so?

    It will depend on which model you buy. Dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm? They handle 750 watts RMS each so you need an amp that will run 1500 watts total RMS at whatever impedance the subs will be when correctly wired up.

Hifonics Brutus 2100d will get the job done.

It does depend on if you bought dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm subs. My recommendation would be the Alpine MRP-M2000. That's a great sounding amplifier (actually one of the best overall in the industry). It has a really high damping factor which gives the amp great control over the subs. It gives you all the power you need for those subs too. I've done a few systems with that amp and those subs and they've always been impressive.
