What would be the best amp for this sub?

What would be the best car speaker/sub/amp for the best sound quality?

  • First off I know nothing about car audio, I do know that I want a great system with the cleanest sound quality for my Honda. Listening to mainly classic rock/hard rock I'm not all about super bass sounds, but just everything coming together. I've heard that Mcintosh amps are the best, but I havent been able to find prices, how much do those run? Which brands and models do you recommend for this? At Best Buy I was told that the Alpine SWR-1043D (amp) and the MRP-M500 (sub) were excellent and great to start with before upgrading the speakers. I've done so much research, but still have no idea what all the technical terms mean. What do you think?

    boston acoustics is a great system if you have a boat load of cash.rockford fosgate is also some good equipment even if they moved out of the country and the old school fosgate equipment is still the best ever built right here in the usa.very underrated for power.eBay the car audio then old school rockford fosgate audio equipment,take a look.

You really aught to set yourself a budget to work within. I consider my sound system pretty mediocre and I've got around $7,500 into it with all the sound deadening, customization, etc. If you're going for real SQ, you need to be equally concerned with your install as you are with your gear. You'll probably spend more on that than the gear itself. Lots of test fitting and listening, fiberglassing, etc. I could throw out a bunch of name brands that I think are much higher on the food chain than kicker and rockford, but I don't think it would matter.
