What is the best SIRIUS satellite radio?

Best way to install Sirius satellite radio in a Freightliner Cascadia?

  • I drive a company-owned 2011 Freightliner Cascadia with a sleeper. I just bought a new Sirius radio but I don't know where to mount the magnetic antenna since just about the entire outer surface of the truck is fiberglass. I am the dedicated driver to this truck, but I don't own it, so I can't do any drilling, ect to complete this installation. If you have done this without altering the truck in any way please let me know. Sirius is of no help, all of their tutorials on the Web deal only with installing in a passenger car.

  • Answer:

You can buy steel platforms designed to mount to the mirror bracket and hold the antenna. I've also had success just mounting the antenna on top of the fiberglass roof, securing it with adhesive. You'll need to route the wire in through the door opening. You might also try just tucking the antenna up above the headliner, inside the cab; although it's not ideal, you can often pick up the satellite signal through the fiberglass.
