Why does my car stereo cut off when the bass/music get too high?

I have two 500 watt subs connected to a 600 watt amp, a car stereo connected to two 50 watt car speakers with a 30 watt tweeter all hooked up inside my house running off the power of a car battery charger. And even though my amp stays on, why does the car stereo cut off when I turn the music up too high?

could be that your dash is getting to hot or cant hanndle the watts so it shuts off so it wont short everthing
