How to wire 2 dvc subs to mono amp?

What is the best way to wire my 2 10" dvc 4 ohm subs to a mono block amp with 2 speaker inputs?

  • They are jbl 10" dvc 4 ohm subs at max 350 rms and the amp is jbl gto 7001 max 700 any help will be greatly helpful thanks

  • Answer:

4 ohms per voice coil for 8 ohm subs or 2 ohm per voice coil for 4 ohm subs... check with JLAudio dot com and look at the tutorial page for various wiring combinations for multiple voice coil subs... but I'm think a parallel series configuration is correct for what the amp can handle in RMS OHMS. As you want to make sure you don't put a 2 ohm load in a mono set up unless the amp can handle it.. but if they are 4 ohm per coil in a series parallel setup you'll be turning the subs into 8 ohms speakers and cutting that in half by running in parallel with each other making the amp see a 4 ohm load.
