    Deciding on whether to get a 2 or 4 ohm subs depends on two main things. One, the number of subs you are going to buy. And two, the type of amplifier you going to buy. One is not better than the other. These just allow for multiple wiring configurations. For example, if you were going to buy a single sub then your choice would be as follows. For an amplifier with only a single channel that is 2ohm stable you would buy the 2ohm sub. However, if you were buying a two channel amplifier that was two ohm stable, you would buy the 4ohm speaker. The reason for this is the resistance of the speaker is split across the two channels so each channel would see 2ohms.

Running a sub at 2 ohms means the amp will see less resistance and produce more power. Check your amp and be sure it is 2 ohm stable before doing this as some amps are not 2 ohm stable. EDIT: A 2 ohm load will give you about 2 times the power output versus the 4 ohm load. Depends on the amps capability.

it all depends on ypur amp... if u have a 2 channel amp then u can run it on 2ohm by running +into one channel and - into the other. this is tricking ur amp and thus makeing it into 2ohms instead of 4ohm... the difference is better from 4ohm to 2ohms because 2 ohms will supply more power and amps into the speaker itself... the smaller #of ohms the better... it will produce louder and crisper as well has maxamize the full potiential of ur speaker not only power wise but also the freq range.
