Is it hard to install car dvd built in headrests?

Wiring cables up to cigarette adaptor?

  • hi there i have recently purchased dvd players for my car that are built into headrests the power cables are two sets of single leads 2 black and 2 red they are mean to be wired up to my cars fuse box but i would prefer if they were attached to a plug that could be attached to my cars cigarette lighter for ease. can this be done and how? thanks

You could just wire them to a 12 volt source, and make sure that you fuse the connections, and install a switch that would power them on and off. It would be the best way and cleanest looking way to do the install.

Assuming these are intended for 12v dc power I don't see why you couldn't use a cig lighter adapter to power them. You would need to have some wiring skill in order to connect your existing wires to the adapter, but it wouldn't be that big of a deal.
